The San Manuel Education Department strives to ensure the quality of overall educational services, programs, and initiatives provided to the San Manuel Tribal Community.  Under the direction of the Director of Education and in partnership with the Education Board’s Cultural Officer (Čañihñia’ci Hakup Puhča’ia’c), the Tribal Cultural Programs Coordinator develops, implements, promotes and coordinates Tribal cultural activities. The Tribal Cultural Programs Coordinator works with other departments and entities on the development, facilitation, and implementation of San Manuel family events, including but not limited to those sponsored by the Tribal Youth Committee.

The Tribal Cultural Programs Coordinator also champions the goals and priorities of the Tribe in a manner that faithfully reflects and upholds the Tribe’s vision, mission and values.

Under the direction of the Reservation Security Sergeant, the Reservation Asset Protection Specialist is responsible for monitoring the security of the San Manuel Band of Mission Indians Reservation and any additional Tribal buildings, as assigned. This position serves the Tribe by continuously observing, reporting, recording, and documenting all unusual and suspicious occurrences or deviations that occur.

Job Description:

The San Manuel Fire Department's mandate is to provide emergency and non-emergency services to protect the lives and property of tribal citizens, employees, patrons, and guests of the San Manuel reservation as well as to safeguard environmental, cultural and economic resources. The department is called upon to ensure fire safety on the reservation and to protect the lives of those within the community. Also critical in the San Manuel Fire Department's mission is to develop, implement and maintain innovative prevention programs and strategies, lifesaving and safety education and training to the San Manuel Band of Mission Indians community. The department fosters partnerships with other tribal departments, as well as outside public safety agencies, to promote a dynamic emergency response capability.

Under the supervision of the Special Operations Supervisor, the Reserve Firefighter accomplishes a variety of duties in the protection of life and property. Participates in the combating, extinguishing and prevention of fires as well as providing emergency medical care, rescue and protection of individuals from hazardous environments. Maintains fire station, grounds, and equipment, participates in fire prevention inspection, fire prevention, and suppression training.

Under the direction of the Guest Services Floor Supervisor, the Guest Services Senior Representative is responsible for providing Best in Class service at every opportunity while assisting the needs of guests in a variety of areas, depending on their assigned schedule. Responsibilities include promoting and encouraging Club Card memberships by enrolling guests, maintaining account information, and reprinting club cards. Duties include oversight of Guest Services greetings, redemption booths, Bus Counter, crowd control, special events, applying free play coupons, meal vouchers and match play. The Senior Representative must report any illegal activity discovered, e.g., pan handling, Title 31 violations, compulsive gambling concerns, medical emergencies and health and safety issues

The Players Club Ambassador supports the Player Development Team through VIP engagement and contacts. This position requires direct contact with the public while delivering superior guest service in accordance with department and company standards, policies and procedures. Responsibilities include increasing Player’s Club memberships, promoting player’s club card usage, and entering customer contact data to support business objectives in accordance with annual goals set by management. Individual and department goals and objectives will be clearly defined to support the increase in club card enrollments, rated slot play and table play.

Job Description:
Under general supervision of the Audit Supervisor, the Audit Data Specialist enters data into several systems and/or spreadsheets, and downloads reports and formats spreadsheets for the reconciliation of various audits done throughout the Accounting Department. The Audit Data Specialist is responsible for maintaining historical records by filing documents. This position requires a working knowledge of computers, MS Office Suite, various programs, and a basic understanding of the reconciliation process.

Job Description:
Under the direction of the Audit Supervisor, the Auditor I will plan and execute the accurate audits of hospitality revenue by verifying, allocating and posting transactions and daily cash deposits. The Auditor I summarizes audit findings and offers preliminary recommendations.

This role must compile data and prepare formal audit findings reports in order to reconcile entries, verify reporting, and prepare daily revenue reports for management, while ensuring compliance with all policies, procedures and regulations. The Auditor I ensures compliance with the Gaming Commission’s Tribal Gaming Minimum Internal Controls (TICS) and the Gaming Commission Regulations (GCR), by studying the standards, enforcing adherence to requirements and advising management on needed actions.

Under the direction of the Supervisor, Revenue Audit, the Tax Reporting Specialist will ensure that the San Manuel Entertainment Authority is in compliance with the Internal Revenue Code (IRC) in regards to the filing of Form(s) W-2G, Certain Gambling Winnings, Form(s) 5754, Statement By Person(s) Receiving Gambling Winnings, 1042-S, Foreign Person’s U.S. Source Income Subject to Withholding, and Form(s) 1099 related to reportable gambling winnings, awards, prizes and/or contest winnings with the Internal Revenue Service (IRS). In addition, the Tax Reporting Specialist will have a general awareness of the Bank Secrecy Act [31 CFR §1021.320], the Patriot Act and requirements of the Office of Foreign Asset Control in the performance of duties as needed in support the overall mission of the Casino Accounting Department.

Under the direction of the Executive Administrative Supervisor, the Administrative Office Clerk is responsible for ensuring that all internal and external mail is distributed accurately and timely. Primary duties are to ensure all checks are distributed and accounted for and monitor the ordering of office supplies and inventory. The Administrative Office Clerk enters contracts and invoices and covers Department reception as needed.

Under the general direction of the Accounts Payable Supervisor, the Accounts Payable File Clerk oversees all records for the Accounts Payable area. The Accounts Payable File Clerk files and retrieve records, and performs light clerical duties as required.

Under the general direction of the Accounts Payable Supervisor, the Data Entry Clerk is responsible for accurate alphanumeric data entry, team support and department mail backup. The Data Entry Clerk is also responsible for assisting with updating and maintaining department spreadsheets and assisting with departmental research. This position is required to maintain the utmost in confidentiality and discretion in regards to company information. The Data Entry Clerk is an integral part of the Accounts Payable (AP) team and must be able to communicate effectively verbally and in writing.

Job Description:
The Cultural Resources Technician assists in the organization and execution of a comprehensive heritage stewardship program that seeks to facilitate the culturally appropriate management of Serrano cultural resources and landscapes and expand tribal sovereignty in a multitude of ways. This role assists with the Tribe’s regulatory consultation and interpretive outreach efforts with external partners as they relate to the preservation and promotion of significant cultural spaces across Serrano ancestral territory.

Additionally, the Cultural Resources Technician assists with the implementation of a cultural site stewardship program for resources on land held by the Tribe, which includes partaking in construction monitoring, field survey, and resource recordation. The Cultural Resources Technician is also expected to assist with various data management efforts, such as archaeological/archival collections processing and digital GIS/reference library data entry. All duties for the Cultural Resources Technician contribute towards the CRM Department’s objective to build capacity within the Tribal community regarding heritage stewardship in a way that gives preeminence to the Tribe’s vision, mission, values, and cultural imperatives.

This may also include providing wellness checks and/or providing case management, home visits, and meeting with citizens. The Tribal Wellness Educator works to assist in connecting and coordinating the community with private and public agencies to provide services through a referral network that is reputable, vetted and subject/service-appropriate. The Tribal Wellness Educator also engages in providing prevention/early intervention (PEI) services to the community.

As part of the Serrano Language Revitalization Project, the Language Teacher will utilize a wide variety of resources to enhance student learning. Through a repertoire of teaching strategies and as an advocate of the Serrano culture, the Language Teacher will have a direct impact on the Serrano Language Revitalization Project by promoting students’ Serrano language development.

Under the director of the Leave & Disability Manager, the Employee Services Representative (ESR) provides internal customer service support to all San Manuel team members who are reporting absences; including COVID-19 related and/or any leave of absence requests, while administering return to work protocol according to company polices. The ESR is required to learn a wide variety of HR subject matters, including internal benefit/leave related processes and return to work procedures. The ESR reaches out to team members to encourage and inform them about the return-to-work process and expectations. The ESR possesses a functional knowledge of San Manuel’s operations and a broad base of knowledge with respect to Human Resources (HR) processes and protocols.

Under the direction of the Guest Services Supervisor, the Lead Representative, Guest Services is responsible for providing support to Guest Services Management and frontline staff related to inventory control and monitoring, accounting of coupons and redemption items, staffing and creating daily shift schedules, enforcement of rules and policies, meeting department goals, and handling of guest concerns. They must be functional in Guest Services Representative and Senior Representative job responsibilities and may have similar duties assigned in the rotation, when needed.

The Serrano Language Revitalization Project (SLRP) is a group of linguists, educators and specialists working within the San Manuel Band of Mission Indians Department of Education to lead language reawakening efforts within the tribal community. Our work is guided by the 2040 Vision, as we endeavor to create more speakers of Serrano within the community. This role works directly with students, children, young adults, parents, family members, and members of the teaching team to provide Serrano language classes and programs at the appropriate level. Under the direction of the Director of Language and Culture, the Serrano Language Teacher takes on an intensive study of Serrano, implements lessons in collaboration with the language and culture team, and delivers immersive lessons. The 2040 Vision strives to have a best-in-class education experience that empowers Tribal Citizens and their dependents to excel in all areas of life through all life stages. The Serrano Language Teacher implements culturally sustaining pedagogy in order to help meet the needs of individual students as well as strive for the 2040 Vision.
