Tribal Cultural Programs Coordinator

Job Description:
The San Manuel Education Department strives to ensure the quality of overall educational services, programs, and initiatives provided to the San Manuel Tribal Community.  Under the direction of the Director of Education and in partnership with the Education Board’s Cultural Officer (Čañihñia’ci Hakup Puhča’ia’c), the Tribal Cultural Programs Coordinator develops, implements, promotes and coordinates Tribal cultural activities. The Tribal Cultural Programs Coordinator works with other departments and entities on the development, facilitation, and implementation of San Manuel family events, including but not limited to those sponsored by the Tribal Youth Committee.

The Tribal Cultural Programs Coordinator also champions the goals and priorities of the Tribe in a manner that faithfully reflects and upholds the Tribe’s vision, mission and values.

Reservation Asset Protection Specialist

Job Description:

Under the direction of the Reservation Security Sergeant, the Reservation Asset Protection Specialist is responsible for monitoring the security of the San Manuel Band of Mission Indians Reservation and any additional Tribal buildings, as assigned. This position serves the Tribe by continuously observing, reporting, recording, and documenting all unusual and suspicious occurrences or deviations that occur.

The Reservation Asset Protection Specialist exhibits a Tribe First mentality and aligns themselves with the goals and priorities of the Tribe in a manner that faithfully reflects and upholds the Tribe’s vision, mission and values.

Reserve Firefighter

Job Description:

The San Manuel Fire Department's mandate is to provide emergency and non-emergency services to protect the lives and property of tribal citizens, employees, patrons, and guests of the San Manuel reservation as well as to safeguard environmental, cultural and economic resources. The department is called upon to ensure fire safety on the reservation and to protect the lives of those within the community. Also critical in the San Manuel Fire Department's mission is to develop, implement and maintain innovative prevention programs and strategies, lifesaving and safety education and training to the San Manuel Band of Mission Indians community. The department fosters partnerships with other tribal departments, as well as outside public safety agencies, to promote a dynamic emergency response capability.

Under the supervision of the Special Operations Supervisor, the Reserve Firefighter accomplishes a variety of duties in the protection of life and property. Participates in the combating, extinguishing and prevention of fires as well as providing emergency medical care, rescue and protection of individuals from hazardous environments. Maintains fire station, grounds, and equipment, participates in fire prevention inspection, fire prevention, and suppression training.

Senior Representative Guest Services

Job Description:
Under the direction of the Guest Services Floor Supervisor, the Guest Services Senior Representative is responsible for providing Best in Class service at every opportunity while assisting the needs of guests in a variety of areas, depending on their assigned schedule. Responsibilities include promoting and encouraging Club Card memberships by enrolling guests, maintaining account information, and reprinting club cards. Duties include oversight of Guest Services greetings, redemption booths, Bus Counter, crowd control, special events, applying free play coupons, meal vouchers and match play. Job Description:
Under the direction of the Audit Supervisor, the Auditor I will plan and execute the accurate audits of hospitality revenue by verifying, allocating and posting transactions and daily cash deposits. The Auditor I summarizes audit findings and offers preliminary recommendations.

This role must compile data and prepare formal audit findings reports in order to reconcile entries, verify reporting, and prepare daily revenue reports for management, while ensuring compliance with all policies, procedures and regulations. The Auditor I ensures compliance with the Gaming Commission’s Tribal Gaming Minimum Internal Controls (TICS) and the Gaming Commission Regulations (GCR), by studying the standards, enforcing adherence to requirements and advising management on needed actions.

Cultural Resources Technician Cultural Resource Management

Job Description:
The Cultural Resources Technician assists in the organization and execution of a comprehensive heritage stewardship program that seeks to facilitate the culturally appropriate management of Serrano cultural resources and landscapes and expand tribal sovereignty in a multitude of ways. This role assists with the Tribe’s regulatory consultation and interpretive outreach efforts with external partners as they relate to the preservation and promotion of significant cultural spaces across Serrano ancestral territory.

Additionally, the Cultural Resources Technician assists with the implementation of a cultural site stewardship program for resources on land held by the Tribe, which includes partaking in construction monitoring, field survey, and resource recordation. The Cultural Resources Technician is also expected to assist with various data management efforts, such as archaeological/archival collections processing and digital GIS/reference library data entry. All duties for the Cultural Resources Technician contribute towards the CRM Department’s objective to build capacity within the Tribal community regarding heritage stewardship in a way that gives preeminence to the Tribe’s vision, mission, values, and cultural imperatives.

Guest Services Lead Guest Services

Job Description:

Under the direction of the Guest Services Supervisor, the Lead Representative, Guest Services is responsible for providing support to Guest Services Management and frontline staff related to inventory control and monitoring, accounting of coupons and redemption items, staffing and creating daily shift schedules, enforcement of rules and policies, meeting department goals, and handling of guest concerns. Serrano Language Teacher Education

Job Description:

The Serrano Language Revitalization Project (SLRP) is a group of linguists, educators and specialists working within the San Manuel Band of Mission Indians Department of Education to lead language reawakening efforts within the tribal community. Our work is guided by the 2040 Vision, as we endeavor to create more speakers of Serrano within the community. This role works directly with students, children, young adults, parents, family members, and members of the teaching team to provide Serrano language classes and programs at the appropriate level. Under the direction of the Director of Language and Culture, the Serrano Language Teacher takes on an intensive study of Serrano, implements lessons in collaboration with the language and culture team, and delivers immersive lessons. The 2040 Vision strives to have a best-in-class education experience that empowers Tribal Citizens and their dependents to excel in all areas of life through all life stages. The Serrano Language Teacher implements culturally sustaining pedagogy in order to help meet the needs of individual students as well as strive for the 2040 Vision.
